Tigers Too Tame Versus Bison

Posted by admin on April 28, 2010 under News | 2 Comments to Read

The Longmont Tigers rolled into Boulder Tuesday night looking to rope one of the Longmont Baseball League leaders – the Boulder Bison.

The Tigers’ bats were luke warm at best, generating no runs in the opening half inning on one hit, a K and two long Fly Outs.

Boulder broke through quickly in the bottom of the first taking two walks and scoring on an error, to go up 0-1 on the Tigers.

The second inning was a pitching and defensive showcase by both clubs, each team picking a runner of a base, and moving into the third with the score still 0-1 to the Bison.

Ultimately the Tigers’ bats never caught any heat, and the Bisons’ warmed up just enough – they added 7 runs while the Tigers added just 1 the rest of the way.

An exciting game to watch, unfortunately ended in a somewhat lopsided loss for Longmont, 1-8.

The Tigers are always moving ahead!  Next up, the Tigers head back to Windsor for the Greeley/Windsor May Daze tournament.

The fellas open against the Ft. Collins Stampede at 9 AM Saturday and then match up with the Eastern Colorado Cobras at 1 PM.  Longmont and the LBL will also be represented by the Longmont Force and the Berthoud Spartans.  Should be a great weekend for baseball!

For details, be sure to check our calendar for details, and come out and support the Tigers!

Nice recap and we'll see you at the tourney this weekend. The Force has gotten pummelled, slaughtered this week, so hoping for better things come Saturday.

No kidding – these teams are due. Maybe it can be a Force / Tigers championship game?
