Tigers Blue After Evergreen
The Tiger’s opened the Mother’s Day Tournament in Lakewood with a draw against the Blue Sox of Evergreen.
The was the first ever match up between the Tigers and a team from Evergreen as well as a team with Sox in their name.
Once again the Tigers drew first blood, picking up a lone run in the top of the first. Pitching and defense again struggled out of the gate. After recording the first out against the first Blue Sox player to take an at bat, the Tigers walked three and added two errors allowing the Sox to take a -1 lead.
As is getting to be a predictable habit – the Tigers buckled down on defense and the second inning was scoreless for both teams.
The third inning saw the defensive woes continue – four errors, two hits and one walk later, the Sox were sitting on a 7-4 lead headed into the fourth.
The fourth inning worsened for the defensively-challenged Tigers – as eight errors were logged along with four solid singles by the Sox.
The Blue Sox played well and completed a 12-5 victory over the Tigers. They move on to play the Eaton Reds while the Tigers attempt to tackle the BC Bears.
As always, check our calendar for schedule details, and come out and support the Tigers!
