baseballdirtScrimmage – that is the word of the week for the Longmont Tigers. On Tuesday the Tigers matched up with the Longmont Stealth. Our Tigers looked strong at times but overall were a bit flat, so a 2-hour conditioning session was scheduled for Thursday. The boys successfully worked together through that tough session- the most grueling portion of which was the hour or so of Dodge Ball. A true test of stamina for the Tigers – they passed with flying colors!

Back to the field! The Tigers scrimmage again today – come out and see us! We’ll take on the Longmont Force, 11 AM, at Sandstone Ranch (out on HWY 119). See our calendar for directions and details.

See you there!

ltigerspracticeMajor League Baseball may as well look at Colorado as a new Spring Training locale.  Yahoo Sports reports that first pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training in just three days, on February 12th.  As well, we are only 15 days away from the first MLB Spring Training games!

Good for them – but the Longmont Tigers, like many youth baseball teams around the country, are already underway.  Winter!  Pshaw!

Okay, maybe Colorado winter isn’t quite mild or predictable enough for MLB spring training, but is has fortunately been good enough for the Tigers to get underway.

It has been great for players and coaches alike to get outside and get to work on preparations upcoming season.  We couldn’t be more excited for the season!

Also, don’t forget, Longmont Baseball League is having tryouts this coming Saturday and the Tigers are looking to fill one or two spots for the coming season.  If you are interested in potentially joining, please contact our coaches right away.
